13 year old Elliott Marks brings young blood to this weekend’s Valley Bluegrass Stage

Band: Elliott Marks and the Cycle

Hometown: Clarkston

Music: Bluegrass and old-time fiddle

Bio: Born on Leap Day Feb. 29, 2000, Marks began playing fiddle at age 5 and is a member of the National Old Time Fiddlers, the Washington Old Time Fiddlers and the Palouse Country Cowboy Poets Association. He plays baseball, basketball, football and does 4-H while maintaining a 4.0 GPA as an eighth-grader at Asotin Junior High School.

Band members: Marks on fiddle, mandolin and ukulele; Dennis Hackwith on mandolin and guitar; Duane Stephens on fiddle; Joe Syverson on guitar and mandolin; Steve Gleason on banjo; Tom Hackwith on stand up bass.

Gig: 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Valley Bluegrass Stage, Clarkston High School Auditorium, 401 Chestnut St., Clarkston. Cost is $5 at the door. Other bands performing are the Panhandle Polecats, Higher Ground, Thorn Creek Express, and Diamond Joe and the Country Mile.
