Moscow is planning its Mardi Gras celebration, a day long festival March 2 to raise money for Palouse area youth.
Entries are being taken for the return of the Mardi Gras parade. All entries are welcome — bands, marching bands, floats, pets, kids, school groups, clubs, and community organizations. The parade starts at 11 a.m.
Kid’s Mardi Gras, a free day of crafts and games is from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Moscow Moose Lodge. Volunteers are needed to assist with craft and carnival stations. High school and university students are welcome.
Tickets are on sale for Adult Moscow Mardi Gras. A Mardi Gras Pass covers entry to six venues featuring bands and music from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Pre-sale passes are $15. All proceeds will support Latah and Whitman County youth groups. Venues are the Moscow Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge, Mingles, the Studio, the Garden Lounge and John’s Alley. Passes are available at the venues and at Safari Pearl, Keeney Bros., Guitars Friend and Zeppoz.
The event committee is also seeking donations for prizes, snacks and sponsorships. More information and registration forms are available at www.moscowmardigras.com.
