Each week’s market features free live music. From 6 to 8 p.m. Friday the Hitmen will play Brackenbury Square where a beer and wine garden by Brava’s will be available.
In addition, downtown businesses will celebrate art at First Friday. More than 500 pieces of original work will go on sale at 5 p.m. Friday at the Fourth Wall Gallery. The show will include live music by bands the Market and Struggle Club along with appetizers, drinks and henna tattooing. An exhibit of watercolors by Clarkston artist Jill Hosmer opens with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Blue Lantern Coffee House.
Plans for an outdoor mural at the site of the Public Market are progressing, Gill said. Two submissions are being considered with a midsummer completion date expected. Vendors are still being accepted for the market, which will continue to expand this season with evening tutorials by University of Idaho master gardeners, kids activities and cooking demonstrations for all ages, Gill said.
On the other side of the river, the Clarkston Farmers Market starts its season Saturday. Hours are 8 a.m. to noon at the corner of Fifth and Sycamore streets with a variety of vendors.
