"Fat activist" whose video went viral visits Moscow

Last August Amy Pence-Brown donned a black bikini and blindfolded herself in the middle of downtown Boise's Farmers Market. Then she invited strangers to write on her body in a public performance about acceptance.

A video of what happened next went viral. Pence-Brown will talk about her work as a "fat activist" at a free brown bag forum from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, in the Crest Room of the Idaho Commons at the University of Idaho. The 1997 UI graduate will discuss the body-positive movement, how her stand in the market went viral and how social media is changing people’s lives, according to a news release from the university.

Pence-Brown talks about the decision to make a stand in the market in this blog where you can also watch the video that went viral.
