PULLMAN — Two masterworks from the 19th century will be performed at 8 tonight in Bryan Hall here in a free concert by the Washington State University Symphony Orchestra.
Movements from Brahms “Symphony No. 2” will be followed by the “Characteristic Dances” and “Waltz of the Flowers” from Tchaikovsky’s ballet, “The Nutcracker.”
Stephen Radcliffe, conductor of the Seattle Youth Symphony and guest clinician for the WSU Orchestra Festival Friday, will guest conduct the Tchaikovsky pieces.

MOSCOW — Logos School Varsity Drama will perform “The Music Man” at 7 tonight through Saturday in the school gymnasium along West A Street here.
The Meredith Willson musical is set in River City, Iowa, in the summer of 1912 and features Harold Hill, a con man posing as a boys’ band organizer. He didn’t count on meeting the librarian, Marian Paroo. The play became a Broadway hit in 1957 and was made into a film in 1962.
The Logos School production stars Danny Bradley as Harold and Sofia Minudri as Marian with supporting roles by Martha Bowman, Jared Stokes, Luke Mason and Everett Plotner. The director is Tom Garfield. The show features a live orchestra.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets may be purchased in advance from the Logos School office, 110 Baker St., or at the door.

MOSCOW — The Latah County Historical Society’s annual Harvest Dinner is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Moscow High School along East Third Street.
The menu features ham and turkey with all of the trimmings and desserts. Live music, a silent auction and a gift shop also will be featured.
Tickets are $15 for LCHS members, $18 for non-members, $6 for children ages 7 to 12 and free for children 6 and younger. Tickets may be purchased in advance from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the Centennial Annex, 327 E. Second St. Cash or checks are accepted.

UNIONTOWN — Three artists who have rediscovered the fun of painting will exhibit pastel and water colors at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn here through November.
Linda Shewey and Sharley Schenk, both of Clarkston, and Franceen Hermanson of Pullman met while taking a pastel class taught by Judy Fairley of Clarkston.
They will attend an exhibit reception from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, and the exhibit continues through Nov. 30.
The women travel the area together photographing material for their art.
The barn is at 419 N. Park Way, and admission is free. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
Nov. 11
PULLMAN — The Community Band of the Palouse plans a Veterans Day Concert in honor of the region’s military veterans at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Domey auditorium at the Gladish Community and Cultural Centere here, 115 N.W. State St.
The concert will feature a selection titled “The American Veteran” by Jonathan LaFlamme, with guest narrator, Brig. Gen. Carleton B. Waldrop, retired from the U.S. Air Force. The band will also pay tribute to the birthdays of Adolph Sax, inventor of the saxophone, John Philip Sousa and the U.S. Marine Corps, with patriotic selections and the music of Sousa. Guests include the Air Force ROTC Honor Guard and the Quad-City Saxophone Ensemble.
The band is directed by Denise Snider.
Admission is free, and donations of canned food for the food bank will be accepted.
