The market runs form 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday now through October 16 in the Moscow Food Co-op parking lot. Besides local food the market features free concerts by local musicians.
All growers are from within 50 miles of Moscow and committed to sustainable practices. Other items for sale include nuts, jellies, jams, baked goods, homemade ice cream and frozen vegan treats. One can also put in orders for lamb and pork.
The Co-op Growers Market accepts federal food assistance (SNAP) benefits. Co-op staff will have an outreach booth at the market with demonstrations, recipes, member information, and sign-ups.
Here's some upcoming activities at the weekly market:
May 15 - Palouse Prairie Kindergarten will host a booth devoted to seed planting demonstrations for kids of all ages. They will teach market goers how to make paper pots, plant seeds and care for them.
June 5 - The first Tuesday of every month the Co-op will sponsor $5 SNAP Bonus Days. Use your SNAP benefits at the market and receive up to an additional $5 in Shop the Market tokens for free.
