If your knowledge of birds consists of being able to tell the difference between a robin and a blackbird, a June 20 class will introduce you to a few more of the more than 200 species of birds on the Palouse.A Beginning Bird-Watching Class June 20 at Living in the Garden is from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. two miles north of Pullman
Kevin Pullen of Pullman will teach tips on distinguishing and recognizing birds. Students will get to peek at some of the avian residents of the garden store.
Pullen was born and raised in northeast Oregon where he spent much of his time on his grandparent¹s ranch. As a child, his grandmother would take him on walks down the country road, stopping to peer into wild rose bushes at the young blackbirds in their nests. He continued his interest in nature as a field biologist, presenter and university zoology instructor.
Cost is $10. Pre-Registration is required at the store. Class size is limited to 25. More information is available by calling (509) 332-0647.
The store is two miles north of Pullman on the way to Palouse on Highway 27.
