From the latest in computer animation to a classic western filmed in North Central Idaho, the silver screen will return to Lewiston’s Pioneer Park this summer for Movies on the Wall.
Showings on the inflatable screen start at dusk Friday with “The Adventures of Tintin.” Concessions will be for sale. People are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating.“The Adventures of Tintin” is a 2011 animated adventure directed by Stephen Spielberg. It follows Tintin, an intrepid young reporter whose pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure on land and by sea. By his side is his dog Snowy.
The series continues every Friday night through Aug. 10. Here’s the schedule:
July 13 – “Breakheart Pass,” PG, 1975
A western adventure starring Charles Bronson and Jill Ireland. The movie was based on the novel by Alistair MacLean of the same title, and was filmed outside Lewiston.
July 20 – “Puss in Boots,” PG, 2011
A computer-animated action comedy by DreamWorks about a sword fighting cat.
July 27 – “Muppet Treasure Island,” G, 1996
A muppet musical based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s, “Treasure Island.”
Aug. 3 – “Angels in the Outfield,” PG, 1994
When a boy prays for a chance to have a family if the California Angels win the pennant, angels are assigned to make that possible.
Aug. 10 – “Hugo,” PG, 2011
Set in 1930s Paris, an orphan who lives in the walls of a train station is wrapped up in a mystery involving his late father and an automaton. Directed by Martin Scorsese,
