Bluegrass Sprouts, free bluegrass workshops for children and youth will begin Jan. 25. The Lewis Clark Bluegrass Organization will sponsor the workshops every last Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to noon in Lewiston. The classes will introduce kids to bluegrass and give them a chance to jam.

All skill levels on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, standup base and vocals are welcomed. Children must be registered to participate. Registration is available by contacting Karen Lombard at (509) 780-3731. Registrants will be given the location for the workshops which will be taught by local musicians. Classes will be ongoing.

The group is also collecting donated instruments for kids to use. Any repairable condition is accepted. People with donations can contact Lombard.
