"A Citizen Same as You and I: Japanese American Student Relocation on the Palouse"

Talk by Washington State University alumnus MJ Vega presented by Latah County Historical Society explores the lives of Japanese American students at the University of Idaho and Washington State College (now WSU) who used their college attendance as a means to escape incarceration in Japanese internment camps during World War II. Using records from the universities, Vega will also discuss how each institution reacted to the camps, as well as to political and public pressure. Refreshments available for purchase from Hunga Dunga.
