Jazz Week

Scotty Barnhart, director of the Count Basie Orchestra, one of the longest continually operating jazz big bands, is the guest artist-in-residence for WSU's first Jazz Week (April is Jazz Appreciation Month). Barnhart will perform Tuesday and Thursday evenings and will be interacting with School of Music students. Scotty played in the band, which recently won a Grammy, while Count Basie was still alive and was eventually chosen to lead the band.
