Lewiston filmmaker Matt Robinson took home the “Spud and Guts” award from the Idaho Horror Film Festival held in Boise last Thursday through Saturday.
Robinson’s short film “Lab Coat” took top honors in the category that is open to Idaho residents only. In the 6 minute, 30 second film, a college student signs up for a science experiment for cash but doesn’t really know what she is in for. Robinson said a number of festivals have expressed interest in screening the film.
This was the third year of the annual festival, which is held at the Egyptian Theater and screens films in categories ranging from feature length to animated and foreign. This year’s festival featured screenings of “The Blair Witch Project” with creator Daniel Myrick and “The Hills Have Eyes” with star Michael Berryman.
Here's a trailer for “Lab Coat.” You can follow Robinson’s work at his Normal Hill Studio Facebook page.
