This is the first meeting for the group, which will be reading "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury, a dystopic American novel set in a future society where books are banned and burned when found by the firemen, who start fires instead of putting them out.
The Moscow Banned Book Club meets on the fourth Monday of each month to discuss the banned book we read that month, and to advocate for creating an inclusive community that celebrates our diversity and our first amendment right to read freely.
This is a passion project that Bre, co-owner of BookPeople of Moscow, and local children's author Eija Sumner who have talked about starting this club for months and are excited to finally bring it to the Palouse.
