The spring semester University of Idaho Mixed Media art class of Nishiki Sugawara-Beda designed and installed a work custom-made for the Moscow Library, entitled “Oh, the Genres You’ll Read!” (mixed media on wood, 2015). Students contributed individual pieces connected by chains. The general concept began as “Palouse Aerial Landscape.” The class divided a map of Latah County roughly along contour lines and waterways, which led to the various shapes. Each piece represents a literary genre or information about the Latah County Library system and Moscow. The class project was aided by teaching assistant Monika Lemmon, with students Rylee Graves, Taylor Jacobs, John Krauss, Jackilyn Linja, Christen Merrick, Dallan Pickard, Kate Picart, Christine Ridgway, and Heather Woolery. The project received partial financial support from the Friends of the Moscow Library. Photo by Chris Sokol, April 27, 2015, Moscow Library
