The bands Trapt and Pop Evil will headline the Rockin’ on the River outdoor concert July 27 in Clarkston. Specifics on times and ticket information have yet to be announced.Trapt was formed by school friends Chris Brown and Peter Charell in 1997. They were influenced by the heavy rock sound of Korn, Soundgarden, and Metallica. Guitarist Simon Ormandy joined the band and Seattle native Aaron Montgomery came in as a drummer. Warner Bros. offered the band a deal in late 2001 and the group debuted with a self-titled EP in spring 2004. The band returned in 2005 with “Someone in Control.” A live album released in 2007 — simply titled “Live” — was their first for Nikki Sixx’s Eleven Seven label. Their first studio album was “Only Through the Pain,” followed by “No Apologies” and “Reborn.”
Pop Evil will release its latest album “Onyx” May 14. Pop Evil’s debut studio album “Lipstick on the Mirror” came out in 2008 and featured radio songs like “Hero,” “Somebody Like You,” “100 in a 55” and “Stepping Stone.” Their song “Last Man Standing” from their “War of Angels” album was featured at sporting events like the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals and the 2011 NFC Championship game between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers.
Tickets will first be offered at a pre-sale at 4 p.m. May 10 at Century 21 Price Right in Lewiston. More information is available on the Rockin’ on the River facebook page.
