Who is Ruthie Pizzle? That’s me. It’s my street name, the name that tells everyone, “Woah, this chick knows what’s up. I’m going to listen to her and believe everything cool she tells me.”
And this week, I’m gonna tell you the rad ways to keep track of schedules, what T-shirts are 100 and some other insider info you’ll need to stay cool:
You might think daily planners have been replaced by smartphone calendars but they haven’t. Don’t let the tech world try to tell you that you don’t need awesome stickers and hilarious page inserts in order to make it to your daily yoga class, office meetings or school conferences. You need something more than a glaring screen, something that makes you laugh or smile on the reg. My planner is from ban.do (you might be seeing a trend here … I love that brand so much) but you can buy similar ones from Erin Condren, Me & My Big Ideas, or Foxy Fit. Follow each of them on Instagram to get great ideas and inspiration.
Say it with a T-shirt. This isn’t a new trend, really, but it’s definitely big right now. If you have a message you want to send the world or you want to subtly let your family know your stance on things while at family dinner, get a shirt with your opinion emblazoned on the front. I’m a sucker for this trend and my favorites are “No human is illegal,” “I tried my best,” and “I’m So Tired.” There are thousands (no exaggeration) of places to get witty tees. Here are a few: Look Human, Hello Apparel, and Easy. (The shirt pictured is from Savage Seeds)
Joggers could quite possibly replace yoga pants in the coming years and that’s something you should be grateful for. I happen to love the look of nice-fitting joggers (these are sweats that are on the ‘skinny’ side with a cuff at the bottom) with a nice top and cute shoes. I know, this just doesn’t make sense on paper, but it does in real life, I promise. Joggers can be purchased almost anywhere now, including Costco. But try them on. You don’t want them to be baggy because then it’ll just look like you’re wearing sweats. You’re better than that.
Cotton candy is the new cupcake. Remember when everyone and their dog was obsessed with cupcakes and a million cupcake shops popped up? Yes, cupcakes are delicious, but it got a little crazy there for a while. Are you aware there are actual cupcake ATM machines? I kid you not. But there’s something new and it’s cotton candy. Now, there’s a chance I’m saying this just because I got a cotton candy machine for Christmas and I’m obsessed, but just a day after I got it, Chrissy Teigen (she’s married to John Legend) snapchatted about hers and if two celebrities are talking about how awesome cotton candy is, it’s a real thing. And by two celebrities, I mean one L-C Valley girl and one incredibly famous woman. You decide who is who.
