Brian Webster, chairman of the Nezperce Lions Club Combine Demolition Derby, estimated that 2,500 people watched nine souped-up combines battle it out and 12 grain trucks race Sept. 28 at the Lewis County Fairgrounds.
The event usually raises between $18,000 and $20,000 for the Lions Club, Webster said, which goes to schools, senior centers, libraries and families in need on the Camas Prairie.
Mary Stone of the Lewiston Tribune was there and brought back these snapshots.
