Artwork by local Traci Haselhuhn formed with Sharpies, watercolor, acrylics and oils will fill the Moscow Food Co-Op walls for the month of August.“I’ve been doing art for the past 15 years and within the last four years, I went back to school to get an art degree to become a teacher,” said Haselhuhn, who is self-taught.
She’s already taught from kindergarten to third grade at Palouse Prairie School, where she assisted several grades in painting three murals.
While she’s had three shows at the Co-Op, this time around Haselhuhn will feature a new series, combining her Sharpie drawings and paintings on canvas. Her pieces are generally 8-by-8 inches, but range in size.
“I work with lines and line variation,” she said. “And the black and white color really pops when you focus on lines.”
Observers will see a lot of nature and the Palouse rolling hills, she said.
Haselhuhn’s artwork will be on display in the deli and cafe area. Potential buyers can see her contact information next to the work. A reception will take place 5-6:30 p.m. Friday.
