Grace Zeller jumped at the opportunity to create the Inland 360 logo in foam.A three-year Moscow Food Co-Op barista, Zeller has served espresso for almost eight years now.
“I love coffee,” Zeller said. “It’s one of my passions. You can never know all of it, no matter how long you work with it.”
But she does know how to make it look good.
For the holidays she designed snowmen, Santas and even wrote “Happy Holidays” in the foam. Thanksgiving week, customers found turkeys in their mugs. For New Year’s, she surrounded “2014” with streamers.
While most of her art is self-taught, she was trained by four different roasters, three of whom did coffee-art training. Zeller uses forks to create hearts or rosettes, and she’ll etch a pattern into the foam for more personal art, which tests her drawing skills.
She’s made ladybugs, sunflowers and her personal favorite: a hedgehog.
“I’m going to have my own coffee shop one day,” she said.
