Leading Irish ensemble brings St. Patrick's Day celebration to Pullman

One of Ireland’s leading traditional ensembles will perform its “St. Patrick’s Day Celebration” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 at Daggy Hall’s Jones Theatre at Washington State University in Pullman.

The award-winning group Danú has recorded eight critically acclaimed albums and performed around the globe. Members from counties Waterford, Cork, Dublin and Donegal play ancient and new music on flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion and bouzouki, with English and Irish vocals.

Danú’s lead vocalist Nell Ní Chróinin was the youngest person to win Ireland’s prestigious Corn Uí Riada competition for sean-nós ("old style") singing in 2014.

Reserved seating costs $18 adults, $15 seniors (age 60 and up) and $9 non-WSU students and youth. Tickets are on sale at TicketsWest outlets including Rosauers in Lewiston, online at ticketswest.com, by calling (800) 325-SEAT and in person at WSU’s Beasley Coliseum where free tickets for WSU students are available. The Daggy Hall box office will open two hours before the performance for ticket sales and will-call. Parking will be available without permits or fees in the Daggy Hall parking garage and the Green 2 lot across the street from the hall.
