Known for its tight-knit Americana originals injected with funk and jam, the high-energy Portland, Ore., bluegrass band Cascade Crescendo will kick off its spring tour Wednesday, April 5 at John’s Alley in Moscow.

The group recorded its debut album, “Caught in the Rain,” last spring at the Hallowed Halls in Portland. Among the 11 original tracks is a bluegrass rendition of the Smashing Pumpkins song “Disarm” and five songs featuring fiddle player Allie Kral of Yonder Mountain String Band.

Formed in 2013, the band features lead vocalist Hunter White, Aden Beck on mandolin, Taylor Skiles on bass, and Harrison Olk on banjo and singing harmony vocals. The up and coming group was part of the lineup for the 2016 Northwest String Summit.
