Does winter driving make your blood run cold? Here’s three tips to give you some peace of mind.
- If you don’t have snow tires or good traction, purchase a set of chains to keep in your vehicle just in case. Practice using them in dry conditions so you know how in an emergency.
- Be prepared for the worst with winter driving supplies in the vehicle. Blankets, water, snacks, matches, a flashlight, jumper cables, sand and a shovel are things you could include.
- Monitor road conditions with your mobile device. Here’s a list of free apps with current road condition information, roadside camera images, closures and traffic reports. Search for them in your device’s app store and download them before you go.
