Lewiston Civic Theater cast members Matthew DeBerard (left), Carrie DeBerard (center) and Travis Osburn perform a scene from their upcoming play "Shakespeare's Long Lost First Play (Abridged)" on Wednesday evening in Lewiston. The play will be performed outside at Lindsay Creek Vineyards on July 18 through 20 and Aug 1st through 3.,

Starting tonight, the Lewiston Civic Theatre will take people on a journey down the road of an ancient manuscript found buried in a parking lot. It proves to be the script of “William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (Abridged).”

Although the script was not actually written by Shakespeare, it includes some of his most famous characters and speeches condensed into 90 minutes of hilarious, fast-paced mayhem with a touch of modern day twists and turns.

“It’s written in the style of Shakespeare, as if this was this was the first play he attempted to write,” said director Leilani Ferrell of Lewiston. “It’s like he had every idea in his head and he tried to cram it into one show.”

The play features three actors, Travis Osburn of Lewiston and Carrie and Matt DeBard, both of Clarkston. The three actors play a multitude of characters. They are the same actors who starred in the theater’s outdoor Shakespeare production last summer.

The show is rated PG-13. Show times are 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and August 1-3 at Lindsay Creek Vineyards, 3131 Powers Ave. All tickets are $15 and are available by calling the theater at (208) 746-3401 or online at www.lctheater.org. Food will also be available for purchase.
