A nonprofit that opened in late 2013, Palouse Bicycle Collective sells mostly used or recycled bikes. Mechanics are available to do repairs, and with the purchase of a membership, the public can use the shop’s tools to fix their own rides. The shop’s mission, featured on its website (http://www.palousebicycle.org/) is “to serve the Palouse by providing bicycle recycling, resources, hands-on education and sustainable transportation.”
Head mechanic Jon LaMoreaux said the shop’s growth has been steady since its debut. “Every year our crew gets a little better and the customers are finding us easier,” LaMoreaux said.
Palouse Bicycle Collective is open 11 a.m to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. It is at 224 W. Third St. in Moscow. Look for the bikes hanging from the eaves and lined up on the lawn.
